Welcome to 2015!
Whoa, where did 2014 go?
I hope however you celebrated the start of the fresh year was full of joy, love and fun! I had a lovely picnic dinner in the park with family and friends and then ventured into the city to watch the fireworks. It was such a relaxing way to celebrate the beginning of a new year that I think it might become a regular part of our celebrations from now on.
Are you into making new year resolutions that inspire and motivate you throughout the year and not just the beginning few weeks? Did you make of them any today?
I used to be a resolutions kind of gal, but found that they fizzled out fairly quickly once reality set in and then I was booting myself in February when my resolutions didn't come to fruition or even look like getting started. Once I set my goals I often immediately felt stressed out by them! To tell the truth, I don't even remember what I put on my list at the beginning of 2014! Oopsies!
So, I've decided to do things a little differently this year and I'd love to hear what you think.
Instead of setting myself goals that a time bound and laser-specific I'm now going to state my intentions for the year that are NOT measurable objectives. For instance, I'd love to lose some weight. But rather than give myself the fixed goal of losing 10 kilos in 6 months, I've opted for working out what the benefits of losing weight are for me. Why do I want to do it? What will I feel when I lose it? Is it really about the weight or more about how I feel in myself? So, after some soul searching, I've figured that I just want to feel better about myself, inside and out. I want to feel more confident. I want to live a long life and be fit and healthy for myself and my family. I want to be strong.
Therefore, I'm making a declaration that I'm intending to nourish my body with healthful foods, look after my mind with some exercise (any kind will do!) and learn some new activities/hobbies that are FUN! Pure, simple and no beating myself up over them. I'm going to make the journey itself the goal!
On top of that, here are just some of my intentions for 2015:
-to feel brave by stepping out of my comfort zone and trying new activities
-to create beautiful, inspiring and fun things and launch them when they feel ready
-to say "no, thank you" to what doesn't make me feel good
-to get my creations in front of as many people as possible - make others feel good too!
What do you think? I think they sound far less stressful and a lot more exciting. I think I'm setting myself up for the success of feeling great about lots of things this year!
Speaking of intentions... I have finally completed a collection of pendants that I think you'll find inspiring and VERY TIMELY! Introducing...
HANDMADE Wishing Globe Pendants are beautifully constructed pyrex globes filled with whimsical REAL dandelion seeds -lovingly plucked by me! There is a charm, colour and inspiring backing card to suit your tastes.
The idea is that you put on your necklace and remind yourself of an intention or wish, or as many as you like. Feel good wearing your gorgeous globe and look spunkariffic all at the same time!
I'd love to hear what you think of either my resolution idea or the new range, or both! Just leave a comment in the comment section below. Thanks!
Anyhoo, there you have my very first post for 2015 - may there be many more! Stay safe out there lovelies and have a wonderful beginning to 2015.
